Subject: Young Chefs cooking camp

Does your child love to cook? Would your child have fun practicing basic cooking skills and hands-on nutrition while making new friends?

If so, you are in luck! Young Chefs offers five week-long cooking camps geared to different age groups this summer. Chef/Instructor Sheila Crye earned the rigorous Certified Culinary Professional designation through the International Association of Culinary Professionals (https://www.iacp.com/) and has taught cooking skills in Montgomery County for 19 years. She holds the camps in her Silver Spring home kitchen classroom for 4-8 lucky youths.

Camps meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 10-14, July 17-21, July 22-28, July 31-August 4, and August 7-11.

Each day of camp, young people prepare and enjoy eating a complete meal that they designed with Chef Sheila’s guidance. She shows them how to modify favorite foods to make them healthier and encourages youths to explore international cultures through their cuisines.
